I guess QM is now in hardware :) Would be great to hear how does that patch sounds like. It's a quite true I've ruined a big amount of time to find some proper terms for the publication. I've not found the 100% correct ones, I knew it, but I just couldn't wait anymore. I was sure it's not gonna get into wikipedia anyhow, so, I've used some decent terms for the general description. I think I need some real help for a proper documentation for the synthesis. And the correct name for the noise you get from it would be "aliasing". The reason that "QM" as you call it makes so much difference is because aliasing is generaly inharmonic, and inharmonic frequencys + FM = madness :D And the rythmic timbral patterns you get are from detune between carrier and modulator as they drift and and out of phase.
